For some time now, Microsoft has been showcasing a video demonstrating how long a laptop battery lasts when running only a browser with the same content (in this case, streamed video). The results show that the Edge browser has outclassed the competition, with Google Chrome performing the worst. While we don't know the specifics of the test beyond the fact that identical laptops were used and the same content was played, nothing was mentioned regarding whether Chrome had various extensions enabled, which ones, or in what quantity, etc. Regardless, it is worth being aware of this experiment, and perhaps if you are running on battery power, it is indeed worth using Edge.
