On December 1, 2014, music stars performed as part of an initiative led by the organization RED. These efforts aim to raise funds and run awareness campaigns regarding AIDS. Every action, no matter how small, is a step closer to ending AIDS globally. You can offer your support at THIS link. The foundation was co-founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver, and since 2006, they have been supporting the global fight against this terrible disease. For over 30 years, AIDS—a preventable and treatable condition—has claimed 39 million lives. Today, 35 million people worldwide are living with HIV, and nearly 13 million have access to life-saving treatment, which costs just 40 cents a day. While this is incredible progress, there is still much to be done to ensure that everyone who needs medication can access it.
(RED) was created to provide a sustainable flow of money from the private sector to the fight against AIDS. To date, over $275,000,000 has been raised through the sale of (RED)-branded products from well-known companies—such as Apple and Starbucks—as well as through events and concerts organized by (RED).

If you missed the concert that took place on December 1, 2014, a recording of the event is available on YouTube. A special and unique highlight of this concert was Chris Martin performing as the frontman for U2.
Bono suffered a bicycle accident while riding through Central Park. He sustained serious injuries (including a fractured left shoulder blade and a humerus fracture in six places), which prevented him from participating in the scheduled performances. His appearance on NBC's "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon was postponed. His stage appearance at the concert organized in New York for World AIDS Day was also in question. Fortunately for the entire project, Chris Martin stepped in for his colleague and, for the purpose of performing two songs, became the vocalist for the legendary U2.
He was dressed in a black jacket and a shirt with the word "SUBSTITU2" – a play on words: a combination of "Substitute" and "U2". (source: coldplace.eu)
The band U2, with temporary vocalist Chris Martin, performed two songs together: Beautiful Day and With or Without You.
It is worth watching the entire concert, and at the 37-minute mark, you can hear the magical sounds of a well-known U2 track played by The Edge with Bruce Springsteen on vocals (Bruce certainly performed it in his own unique style).
